the zoo

I had fun at the Zoologicá National. They have been open for 99 years! A lot of the animals at the zoo are there because they had been illegally captured and it isn’t safe to release them back into their natural habitat. Some had been caught with a plan to kill them for their fur, others were caught and kept as pets or there were plans to sell them. I think it is really sad that people do these things to animals. I really liked that the zoo teaches the laws related to wild animals and about how humans are effecting their natural habits.

My favorite animals at the zoo were the penguins because they were cute. One of the zookeepers showed us some penguin feathers and they looked so soft and tiny. My dad’s favorite animals were the giraffes because we were able to see them up close. My mom’s favorite animal was the Darwin frog because she found their lifecycle to be very interesting.
