What better place to begin our worldschooling journey, than where Rich and I first met! Rich and I met in Santiago in 2006 and spent six months getting to know each other before taking our relationship long distance (he is from England, and I was living in New York) and figuring out how to spend as much time together. Two years after meeting, we got married, and the rest is history.
Walking around the city and showing the girls our favorite spots was great. We went to museums, rode the metro, took buses, and walked the markets. On our second full day in Santiago we experienced a 6.4 magnitude earthquake. The girls responded so calmly to the situation. Perhaps the museum exhibit on earthquakes in Chile from the day before, helped to prepare them.
As much as we enjoyed our time in the city, after one week we were ready to get away from all of the tall buildings and city noise.
